I'm not the sort of person, who usually goes for a palm size (or smaller in the case) camera, but I made an exception in this case and was pleasantly surprised.

This camera is light, compact and easy to use if you're not someone who uses a camera all that often, and with its' small size, it'll fit easily into your coat pocket or handbag, so is something you'll find easy to use.

It's a little expensive and you might think that 12.1MP is a little excessive, but the fact is it's been on the market a while and it's still one of the best small cameras out there, so in a way you're future proofing yourself for what is going to come over the next 2 years or so.

In addition, it's a Sony. I'm not one who usually buys "names," but when you buy Sony you know you're buying quality, which is always a good thing right?

My one grumble is the view finder. I'm not used to the screen for photo taking, and so use the little view finder. It's useful if you don't zoom in on anything, but pretty much meaningless if you do, because it's not connected to the lens, so you don't know what you're potographing once you press the zoom button.

I bought this when it first came out I was drawn to it because of the full hd and the 12.1 megapixals and i have to say I love it and think it's a great camera outdoor shots a fantastic and close ups are amazing I just have problems with taking photos indoors auto mode is poor any I have no idea what setting would work best ( any help anyone!!!) I would highly reccomend this as a great buy just wish it came with better booklet on how to use it properly

Present from my husband, no, he did not choose it, just paid! I read specs and reviews for weeks before deciding that this was the one.
I love it, it could not be easier to use as soon as you get it out of the box especially if you don't want to read the instructions, but it gets better as you discover more about it. Great buy and great price for 12 MP
 
File error from the start posted on 2008-06-21
This camera has not worked properly since I bought it. When taking pictures either with internal memory or memory stick I get a file error message and a blank blue screen when I try to play the images back. Also the images will not transfer to the PC as it says file error. Wish I had never bought it

why hello......... basically i brought this camera about a week ago and at first i must say that i thought it was pretty terrible i kept geeting blurry shots with noise.... i am doing a animation for art school works and for that it was truly gret as you can speed through shots really fast and by pressing unzoom in view mode see all your pictures idsplayed NICEly. As you begin to master the camera in all its glory your pictures will become far more clear ive been mainly using auto mode recently and they look sowwweeet. Also there are sooo many different modes to choose from which each make a noticable difference. battery life is pretty bad buy a few, while animating lasted about 3 hours but i guess i was taking continual shots and deleting etc. the macro mode is pretty awesome for taking very close up shots, took some of flowers, grass, jeans, dead insects etc. and its very impressive. It's looks are great not to mention its size and still preforms well enough to blow up to A3 (they actually look good)you just have to give this camera some time and then you will realise its true greatness and this is coming from someone who was going to send it back when i first tried it. Sooooooooooooooo just stick with it and you'll end up with some really good photos. I do art i know what i'm talking about. ohh yer watch out for people trying to jack it cos i assure you, you'll be very angry.
